YOU SHOULD BE OVER IT BY NOW💔

These five words have broken more grieving hearts than many people will ever realize.

"It's been a year."

"It's been two years."

"You're still crying?"

"You need to move on."

"Life goes on."

But tell me...

Who decides when a heart should stop missing the person it loved?

Who sets the deadline for grief?

Is there a calendar that says, "On this date, you must stop hurting"?

The truth is...

Grief has no expiry date.

When you lose a spouse, a parent, a child, or someone who was woven into your everyday life, you're not just grieving a person.

You're grieving the conversations you'll never have.

The dreams you'll never fulfill together.

The empty chair at the table.

The birthdays.

The anniversaries.

The ordinary moments that suddenly became priceless because they're gone.

People see you smiling and assume you've healed.

They don't see the tears you wipe away before anyone notices.

They don't see the nights when the silence is louder than any noise.

They don't see the strength it takes just to get out of bed on certain mornings.

Healing isn't measured by how long it's been.

It's measured by the courage to keep living while carrying a heart that has been forever changed.

So please...

Never tell a grieving person, "You should be over it by now."

Instead, say:

❤️ "I'm thinking of you."

❤️ "How are you doing today?"

❤️ "I'm here if you need someone to listen."

Because grief doesn't disappear.

It changes shape.

Some days it's gentle.

Some days it's overwhelming.

But love never expires, and neither does the longing for someone who mattered deeply.

If you're grieving today, let this remind you:

There is nothing wrong with you because you still miss them.

Missing someone is not a sign that you're weak.

It's a sign that you loved deeply, and love doesn't end when a heartbeat does.

💬 Have you ever been told, "You should be over it by now"? How did it make you feel?

Your story may help someone else realize they're not alone.

Unexpected Blessings in Grief

There are blessings no one would ever choose the price for.

If you had asked me before loss, I would have said, "No blessing is worth this kind of pain."

And I still believe that.

But grief has a strange way of uncovering things you never knew were buried inside you.

As a widow, I discovered strength I never asked for. Faith I didn't know I could lean on. Compassion that only comes from sitting with broken hearts. A voice that now encourages women I once thought I could never understand.

The difficult season didn't feel like a blessing.
It felt like survival.

But somewhere between the tears, the unanswered questions, and learning to live again, God planted seeds I couldn't see.

He taught me that joy can return.
That laughter isn't betrayal.
That healing doesn't mean forgetting.
And that a shattered life can still become a beautiful testimony.

Some blessings don't arrive wrapped in happiness.
They grow quietly in the soil of our hardest seasons.

If you're in that place today, keep going.

One day you'll look back and realize that while the storm changed you, it didn't destroy you. It grew something in you that nothing else could.

Not every difficult season makes sense.
But sometimes, the most unexpected blessings are born from the chapters we never wanted to live.
